We are two biologists who run a small pisciculture with ornamental fish in the village of Zepkow in Northeastern Germany since 1998. In approx. 15.000 litres of tank water we breed rarities, especielly rainbow fish, livebearers, barbs, among some others. We sell the offspring to retailers and wholsalers as well as to private fish keepers looking for species which are seldom found in the shops.

Furthermore, out of our search for suitable accomodations for the shelldwelling cichlids from Lake Tanganyika in our pisciculture, the area of shells gradually developed. In the beginning, we tried to make available suitable accomodations also for hermit crabs and in the meantime, our selection of shells grew to a size that allows us to offer them to a wider range of interested persons and applications: to collectors, tinkerers, anglers, and other privatley interested persons as well as for professional utilisation like pet shop requirement, decoration, exhibitions, education in biology or art, and as raw material for instrument makers or jewellers.

Some years ago, we added the "Trockenaquaristik" (just a joke word we invented) to our program. We wanted to keep the focus on fish but were looking for easy-care specimen needing neither water nor feed and are at least beautiful, useful, or funny. Our search resulted in items with fish motifs from around the world for almost all occasions: commodity and decoration ranging from art to stuff for private or professional fish's friends like fish keepers, anglers, fishermen, divers, cooks ... Some of these articles were imported by us directly from their producers in America, Africa, Asia, and Australia, with every effort from our side to ensure fair trade conditions for all participants. At this moment, only a few items are made by ourselves but we hope we can offer more out of our own production in the future.

You can find us with all these fish and shells in Zepkow, in this webshop, and occasionally with our home-made market stand on some handicraft markets and fisher's festivals in our region.

We live and work in the northeastern federal state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern close to Lake Müritz. Our village is situated about halfway between Hamburg and Berlin, approx. 20 km north of the town Wittstock. As a car driver on the motorway A19

• coming from Rostock, take the exit Röbel and then, turn right into the federal road B198. After passing Dambeck, turn right to Zepkow (signposted), then turn left at the road crotch inside our village. We can be found in the last residential house on the right hand side.
• coming from Hamburg or Berlin, take the exit Wittstock, and inside this town as well as behind on the country road, follow the way to Röbel straight on. Inside the village of Wredenhagen, turn left to Zepkow (signposted). We can be found in the first residential house on the left hand side.

Visitors are welcome here, but because we do not have a shop with regular opening hours, an appointment is necessary. Please write us an e-mail or call us in case you want to come.
